Combination 3-needle bind off. Knit and Purl. Good for reverse Stockinette or Garter Stitch

My design GOODFELLOW top for Interweave Knits Summer, 2017  has a Garter stitch band that I needed to connect invisibly, so I came up with purl 3-needle bind off. Enjoy! This is also great for any number of situations when knit and purl stitches are combined. Example wide ribbing like k2, p2.

Tuck Stitch (Part of fancy group of slip-stitch patterns)

Many of my students were asking me to make a video on this topic. Tuck stitches are done using slipped stitches with yarn on needle (Sl1 wyon)

Mobius Cast On

This tutorial was created to support my published pattern Mahogany Twins  and can be used for any time the pattern calls for this cast-on method.

Lacy Cord cast on

There are many variations of this type of cast on. I teach some of them in my classes. This cast on is a variation of a cast on that can be found in the book Cast On, Cast Off  by Cap Sease. The difference is in the way I pick up stitches on the back. […]

A perfect selvage

I want to share with you this very important (for many reasons) technique that makes your knitting edges perfect. Let’s look at these pictures first. This photo shows two swatches. One on the left is worked with garter edge (knit all sts). The right swatch has the nice chained edge. Can you see how different they are? The […]

Every Great sweater begins with the Great swatch

I know that some people think that to knit a swatch is a chore, or a nuisance, or even some ancient thing that nobody needs since the pattern tells you how many stitches you need to cast on. Well, how about if I give you some scenarios what happened to “Martha” and you decide if […]
